Abstract: Transport and technological systems are the basis of the Russian economy and under the conditions of toughening competition must constantly improve the structure and methods of management. The purpose of this article is to clarify and supplement the theory and methodology of design and formation of transport-technological systems. The methods of research chosen are the methods of classification, induction and deduction. The research tools are binary matrices, formed on the basis of a set of classification attributes and their dichotomies. The article specifies the essence of transport and technological systems, gives their classification, substantiates the prerequisites and develops the stages of design and formation of transport and technological systems based on the logistic approach and the author's concept of logistics. Based on the results of the study, the elimination of interfunctional barriers in product supply chains and passenger delivery, as well as increasing the sustainability of transport and logistics systems in markets of any type is provided.
