Abstract: The high level of competition and the growing diverse demand in the freight transportation market determine the need for a modern approach to the organization of business processes in transport companies and the management of transport logistics based on modern information technologies. The need for automation is associated with business development, when the organization of transportation of goods in manual or semi-automatic mode ceases to provide a competitive result. Use of outdated systems of accounting, analysis, organization of the processes entails unnecessary labor, financial, time and material costs. The tool for achieving progress is the introduction of information and digital technologies for managing the processes of transport organization. The main problems and directions of automating the business processes of transport organizations based on the implementation of software are considered. An analysis of the largest IT suppliers for Russian transport companies and software systems in the field of transportation is presented, showing the effectiveness of this area of innovative activity. The study was conducted on the example of small transport enterprises and IT companies in the region. It is concluded that it seems possible to solve the currently existing problems of using software in transport only through active interaction and adaptation of programs to the requirements of transport organizations.
