Abstract: This paper presents and justifies one of the hydrogeoecological research methods, namely, the study of groundwater regime to accurately forecast hydroge-ological and geoecological conditions of deposit mining and develop highly effi-cient actions to provide the safety of deposit operation, prevent potential adverse consequences, and minimize the environmental and economic damages during the post-mining period. The Urals are famous for the deposits of iron, copper, nickel, zinc, manganese, and chromite ores, as well as gold, platinum, gemstones, asbestos, bauxites, coal, and many other resources. Hydrogeological conditions are one of the key factors that can complicate the mining of these deposits. Groundwater flows into the mines, complicates headwork and resource extraction, and requires the construc-tion of mine and quarry water removal facilities and drainage systems, which affects the economics of mining company operations. Groundwater influx may have catas-trophic results, often leading to human casualties. All of the above calls for the study of the hydrogeological conditions at mineral resource deposits at all of the lifecycle stages from exploration to mining company shutdown.
